How the GPS LifePlan Works
The GPS LifePlan is a tool to help you with planning. You decide which areas would benefit you most. As you explore areas of the GPS LifePlan, it may be helpful to share the site with your family, faculty, college counselor and/or advisor. These people may be able to provide support and advice as your consider your goals and plans. It is likely that you will revisit certain areas as your situations, needs or wants change.
There are three major components to the GPS LifePlan:
- 1) The web-based GPS LifePlan tool
- 2) An electronic portfolio - eFolio
- 3) Campus activities and events
For optimal success, all students engage in all components. If that is not possible, this web site can be a valuable stand alone-resource and all are encouraged to use it as it best fits their individual needs.
The five main areas of the GPS LifePlan are Career, Education, Finance, Leadership, and Personal. Click on the tabs with these titles across the top of each page to view the content in each area.
The menu on the left-hand side of each area will link to the topics of that area:

Track Your Progress with eFolio
You can use eFolio to save the work you complete on the GPS LifePlan.
4 Ways eFolio can assist you:
- 1) Store copies of important documents.
- 2) Use it to track and manage your career plan.
- 3) Showcase work samples and skills.
- 4) Share in supervision, coaching, and mentoring.
Click on the eFolio log-in at the top of this website to get started. Please note that eFolio is free of charge to those who live, work or attend school in Minnesota. Others can still use all aspects of the GPS LifePlan website but will need to consider alternative ways of storing work. One option is to purchase an individual eFolio license for a small fee.
